Hypnosis isn’t about deep sleep, witchcraft, or someone else controlling your mind. You won’t cluck like a chicken or quack
like a duck………unless, of course, you want to!
Instead, hypnosis could curb your habitual urge to overeat, smoke; deal with any number of addictions, habits or emotions you want to
conquer. Hypnosis can allow the subconscious mind to provide a drug free option to eliminate a habit or make a life change and as the saying goes, “teach
an old dog a new trick.”
The subconscious mind is where all memories are kept. In the conscious mind, you can analyze or rationalize something to death. When
you by-pass the conscious mind, you can tap into the subconscious and change that old pattern of thinking, eliminate the old programming that has held you
back, produce mind-freeing changes in your life, or rid yourself of a bad habit. For example, a smoker can consciously rationalize why he should not smoke,
but if his subconscious doesn’t catch on, it won’t happen. The same goes for dieting. How many have reduced their weight only to regain it within
a short period of time? We call this “yo-yo” dieting.
Willpower also resides in the conscious mind. It is wonderful short term, but does not last. That old habit programming in the subconscious
always wins out. Unless you replace that programming with a new suggestion to the subconscious, the old habit will take over again. Hypnosis allows you
into the subconscious mind to accomplish permanent change. But, to be successful, you must be open to the idea and allow the new suggestion to enter the
subconscious mind.
Some people fear that the hypnotist can control them. This is impossible because, if the hypnotist were to make a suggestion to your
subconscious mind that you did not want, you would simply emerge from hypnosis by opening your eyes and allowing the conscious mind to come back to the
surface. Hypnosis cannot negate a person’s principles, or moral conviction. For instance, a hypnotist can not make a client rob a bank if he or she
wouldn't’t rob a bank on their own.
You are not asleep when in hypnosis, but rather in a deep state of relaxation where your senses are sharper and more focused. You are
able to answer questions and respond during hypnosis. Hypnosis actually is a normal everyday function. Watching TV for example, is a form of hypnosis…..just
ask any mother who has tried to get her children’s attention when they are “glued” to the TV! Hypnosis will work well for anyone who is willing. The old scripts of your past….fear, guilt, anger and past traumas, are all the
things that immobilize you. Hypnosis can let you break all of those old patterns and negative beliefs, releasing the negative energy…. leaving more
room for positive energy in your life. This allows you to create more success in your professional and personal life, and reach your fullest potential.
